MODULE 1
CREATING A COMPELLING ORGANIZATIONAL PURPOSE

 This module focuses on organizational purpose, vision and core values and their role in shaping organizational change, the strategic leader’s role in the creation and maintenance of a future-focused organizational purpose, vision and core values, and creating consensus around a compelling, future-focused organizational purpose and vision.

 

MODULE 2
BEING THE LEAD LEARNER

This module emphasizes that highly effective people must be life-long learners, trend trackers and futurists, that leaders model continuous and energetic growth and development, and create an organizational norm of continuous and purposeful learning.

 

MODULE 3
MODELING THE ORGANIZATION’S PURPOSE AND PRINCIPLES

This module focuses on the power and importance of “modeling” and symbolic leadership, that trustworthiness and integrity are the perquisites to leadership legitimacy and leadership effectiveness, and establishing trust and aligning behavior and decisions with the purpose and vision of the organization.

 

MODULE 4
EMPLOYING WIN-WIN STRATEGIES WITH CUSTOMERS AND CLIENTS

This module emphasizes that the organization and the staff must be client –centered and customer focused, that the strategic leader creates positive, open, honest and trusting relationships with customers and clients, and creates long-term trusting relationships, employing win-win strategies when communicating, negotiating and problem solving with customers and clients.

 

MODULE 5
CREATING A CULTURE OF SUCCESS, COOPERATION AND QUALITY

This module is designed to demonstrate why and how the values and beliefs of individuals and the culture of an organization influence how people think and behave, explains the role of the leader in creating and maintaining an organizational culture based upon core values by creating a culture of sustained success through workplace cooperation and quality products and processes throughout the organization.

 

MODULE 6
CREATING A CHANGE-FRIENDLY CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MINDSET

This module teaches how change and adaptability are basic to continuous improvement and to long-term organizational health and stability; sees the strategic leader as a change agent, creating a change-friendly organizational climate that encourages, supports, and rewards innovation and change thus creating a climate and designing organizational structures that make purposeful change and adaptability organization norms.

 

MODULE 7
CREATING MEANING AND OWNERSHIP AROUND ORGANIZATIONAL PURPOSE

This module emphasizes that all employees find motivational meaning in their work, defines the leader’s role in creating meaning for employees, and structures work activities consistent with a compelling organizational purpose that helps employees find meaning, intrinsic motivation and fulfillment in their work.

 

MODULE 8
EMPOWERING EVERYONE IN THE ORGANIZATION

 This module describes what empowerment is and why and how it leads to job satisfaction and productivity; shows how leaders significantly influence the conditions that create feelings of empowerment in employees; and supports implementing policies, procedures and practices that bring out the best in people and significantly increase the organization’s capacity.

 

MODULE 9
CREATING A FEEDBACK
LOOP FOR CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

 This modules focuses on the motivational power of feedback, the role that feedback plays in helping organizations continuously and systematically improve, and why feedback is a prerequisite for accountability; why the strategic leader designs and implements feedback systems regarding the internal operations of the system and how well the organization is meeting customer/client expectations; and supports creating internal and external feedback loops which, in turn, ensure continuous organizational improvement and accountability.

 

MODULE 10
MANAGING TOWARD AN ORGANIZATIONAL PURPOSE AND VISION

This module emphasizes that effective managers align all organizational components with purpose and vision; that strategic leaders have the responsibility to create concrete visions, conditions and structures that encourage systemic change; and the need to make day-to-day management decisions that align the organizational structures, policies, processes and practices with the organization’s purpose and vision.

 

MODULE 11
STRATEGIC DESIGN: CREATING A STUDENT-CENTERED, FUTURE-FOCUSED DIRECTION FOR YOUR
SCHOOL DISTRICT

This module teaches a successful, inspirational process to set a coherent, future-focused strategic direction for an entire system; offers the leader a consensus-building activity that fosters follow-through and real productive change and improvement; and creates within the participant the knowledge and commitment to implement a strategic direction-setting process for his/her whole system.

 

MODULE 12
SUPERVISION FOR ALIGNMENT: MAKING SURE EVERYONE’S ON THE BUS

This module provides a 12-question supervision dialogue focused on implementation of vision, quality standards, leadership and organizational support for all staff; emphasizes that leaders will be conscious and systematic about ensuring follow-through; and shares the knowledge and skills to successfully implement the Supervision for Alignment dialogue.

 

MODULE 13
PRINCIPLES OF PROFESSIONALISM

This module provides clues on how do we want to do things around here which is a step on the way to moral and ethical leadership; emphasizes that the administrative team makes conscious and meaningful decisions as to their collective values and principles, identifying the attitudes and behaviors that allow them to act on them; and creates the skills to use values and principles as guides to communication, relationships, and decisions.
